DEPUTY MINISTER URGES SPEED ON DRAIN PROJECTS IN FLOOD-PRONE AREAS

The sector Deputy Minister, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, together with engineers, inspected the progress of work on some critical drainage projects being undertaken in some flood hotspots within the capital.

Accompanied by engineers from the Ministry, the Deputy Minister visited key sites, including the Paloma drains that flow into the Odaw basin, the First Light-Kaneshie drains, and the Abgogbloshie drains.

As the rains continue into the end of the year, it was imperative that contractors working on various drains in some flood hotspots are given a nudge to speed up work towards alleviating the plight of Ghanaians in those areas.

The Deputy Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to finding lasting solutions to flooding in flood-prone areas within the city.
