
The Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has expressed concerns over the slow pace of the Pokuase Affordable Housing Project, a key initiative aimed at addressing Ghana’s housing deficit.
The project, which aims to deliver 8,000 housing units on a 203-acre land, has been facing delays due to funding constraints. The Minister’s concerns were made known during a recent visit to the project site.
“We are concerned about the slow pace of the project, and we are working to address the challenges facing the developers,” the Minister said. “We are committed to completing this project and providing affordable housing options for Ghanaians.”
Hon. Adjei assured that, the government is commitment to complete all stalled housing projects, including the Pokuase Affordable Housing Project. He said plans are underway to explore funding options and ensure the project is completed.
The Hon. Minister also visited the Nsawam Adoagyiri Water Treatment Plant where he commended the team for their efforts in expanding supply to Accra. He urged them to accelerate their work to meet growing demand.
“Affordable housing is just one part of the equation—residents also need reliable access to clean water,” he noted. “We are committed to ensuring that every household in Ghana benefits from both quality housing and essential services like water.”
The Minister’s tour, which included key technical staff and agency representatives, reinforced the government’s commitment to integrated infrastructure development, ensuring housing, water supply, and urban planning work together for sustainable communities.
