Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim is an accomplished public servant, legislator, and development advocate whose career spans over two decades of leadership in governance, business, and public administration. He currently serves as the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, bringing to the role a wealth of experience in parliamentary governance, strategic leadership, and constituency development.
Born on 6th May 1974 in Sunyani, Hon. Ibrahim hails from Banda Ahenkro in the Bono Region of Ghana. A committed Christian and family man, he is fluent in English, Twi, and Nafara, reflecting his ability to connect with a wide cross-section of Ghanaians.
Education and Academic Background
Hon. Ibrahim is an alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science with Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon.
His academic training in finance, political science, and philosophy has provided him with a strong foundation in analytical reasoning, fiscal governance, and ethical leadership — attributes that continue to define his approach to public service.
Public Service and Political Career
Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim’s public service journey is rooted in grassroots development and a deep understanding of local governance systems. He was first elected to Parliament in 2009 as the Member of Parliament for Tain Constituency, and subsequently became the Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, a position he has held with distinction to date.
Within the Parliament of Ghana, he has served in several key leadership capacities, including:
● Second Deputy Majority Whip (2013–2017)
● First Deputy Minority Whip (2017–2025)
His tenure in Parliament has been marked by a reputation for discipline, inclusivity, and bridge-building across the political divide. He is also a former Member of the ECOWAS Parliament, where he contributed to regional integration, democratic governance, and policy harmonization within the West African subregion.
Professional and Entrepreneurial Background
Before entering frontline politics, Hon. Ibrahim was the Chief Executive Officer of Flamingo Publications Ghana Ltd, a publishing and educational enterprise. His leadership in the private sector honed his skills in corporate management, human resource development, and production systems with practical competencies that have translated into his effective management of public institutions.
International Engagements and Thought Leadership
Hon. Ibrahim has represented Ghana at numerous international conferences and workshops, enhancing his exposure to global governance practices and policy innovation. These include high-level engagements with institutions such as the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in countries such as India, the United Kingdom, Uganda, Sri Lanka, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Through these platforms, he has contributed to conversations on good governance, digital inclusion, open learning, and parliamentary reforms.

As Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon Ahmed Ibrahim strengthened decentralisation, promoted responsive governance, and deepened the collaboration between government, traditional leaders, and faith-based organisations to drive sustainable development at the local level.
Personal Life
A man of humility and deep faith, Hon. Ibrahim is a devoted member of the Church of Pentecost. He is married with one child. His hobbies include reading and debating, which reflect his lifelong passion for learning, dialogue, and nation-building.

Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources
Hon. (Mrs.) Gizella Tetteh – Agbotui, NDC Member of Parliament, Awutu Senya West and Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources.
Hon. (Mrs.) Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui is the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West constituency in the Central region of Ghana on the ticket of the NDC in the 9th Parliament of Ghana and a Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources. She was the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West and served on Appointments committee, Works and Housing committee, Energy committee and Deputy Ranking for Office for profit committee in the 8th Parliament of Ghana.
She is an Architect with over 28 years’ experience in Architecture, Construction and the Real Estate sectors; a passionate, focused individual driven by a desire for value, impact, compliance and positive results in all sectors she has been involved with.

Over the past 28 years she has worked with Amalgamated group in Kumasi, Environ 4, Akuffo and Associates, Goldkey properties all in Accra and Zella Architects in Tema, in the housing, education, industrial, recreation and civic sectors. She was an instructor for the Professional Practice Exams (PPE) held by the Architects Registration Council from 2011 – 2020.
Gizella has very rich experience in Corporate Governance in both public and private organizations. She served two terms on the Council of the Ghana Institute of Architects (2000, 2002, 2006-2008), the Boards of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (2009-2013) and Ghana Airports Company Ltd (2013-2016), Zoomlion Ghana Ltd (2015-2020) and Angels Specialist School International (2017-2018).
She also served as the Chair of the Awutu Senya District works sub- committee and an Assembly member (Government Appointee) of the Awutu Senya district (2015- 2017).
Gizella has chaired the Boards of Sewage Systems Ghana Ltd and Sino Africa Development Company from 2016-2018, and was an advisory Board member of the Environmental & Sanitation group under the Jospong Group.
Gizella is passionate about Women in leadership, Women in Politics, Aviation, Environmental and sustainability issues, Corporate governance, Policy formulation in Infrastructure, Mentoring, Volunteering and Philanthropic work.
She is married to Mr. Selorm Agbotui with two lovely daughters; Arlene and Annalise Agbotui.
