DANISH AMBASSADOR PAYS COURTESY CALL ON MINISTER

The Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Resources, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, hosted the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Tom Nørring, and his team in Accra.

The discussions during the meeting focused on strategic water sector projects and collaboration, with a key highlight being the commencement of the Aveyime Water Project.

This initiative, supported by the collaboration between the Ghanaian and Danish governments, will involve the construction of a water plant in Aveyime to serve the residents of the North Tongu District in the Volta Region and other areas within the Greater Accra Region.

Another project that is set to commence is the extension of the Wa and Bolgatanga Water Distribution Networks in the Upper West and Upper East Regions, respectively.

Additionally, there were discussions on plans to reduce non-revenue water levels (wastewater management) within the Tema enclave.

The Sector Minister expressed the government’s gratitude to the Danish government and conveyed his belief that these initiatives will significantly contribute to creating a robust and sustainable water sector.
