The Sector Minister, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, embarked on working visit to inspect progress of works of drainage project  within selected flood-prone communities in Accra. The exercise formed part of the Ministry’s continuous efforts to strengthen the city’s resilience against perennial flooding.

The visit, which covered three major project sites, enabled the Minister and the technical team to assess progress of work and engage contractors to ensure adherence to approved timelines.

Hon. Gilbert Adjei hinted that the Ministry will continue to conduct similar monitoring visits across the region to guarantee delivery of efficient and timely project.

At the Accra Academy  stretch, where  the Minister observed delays in execution, he directed the contractor to submit an updated work schedule indicating the timelines for the completion.

The Minister and his team also visited the drainage improvement project at Weija, where he commended the contractor for exceeding expectations.

The final stop of the tour was at Central University, where initial challenges had contributed to delays in the execution of works. Following a meeting at the Ministry, the contractor assured the Minister of his commitment to complete the project within schedule.
